Alpina ORO QV MIPS Ski Helmet

All Mountain

The best ingredients mixed together don’t always give us gold. But they do in this case. The ORO QV MIPS has a QuattroVarioflex lens, which sets a new standard in terms of comfort thanks to the interlocking translation rotation mechanism (TRM). In conjunction with the additional MIPS safety feature, this results in a special helmet: a visor helmet for maximum comfort, enhanced safety and optimum visibility on the piste. This makes every day of skiing a golden day.

MIPS provides additional protection in the event of falls with rotational movement.
Removable and washable interior ensures a high hygiene factor
Optimum air conditioning thanks to adjustable ventilation openings
High durability and protection due to reinforced lower edges
Optimal shock absorption due to microscopically small air chambers

Alpina ORO QV MIPS Ski Helmet Specifications & Features:

Weight: 720 grams
Helmet lighting: No
Standards: EN 1077:2007 Class B
Weather application: Overcast, snowfall
Application: All Mountain

Technologies:

Airstream Control:

Airstream Control allows air openings to be opened and closed on the top of the helmet. The air flow can be regulated and adapted to the weather conditions. A perfect climate inside the helmet is thus guaranteed at all times.

Ergomatic:

Proven hundreds of thousands of times and used on all Alpina helmets: the belt buckle with the red push button and multi-stage automatic detent. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand – you can loosen the strap uphill, tighten it downhill – and in the event of a fall, it is not possible for the closure mechanism to open by itself.

Fidlock:

The FIDLOCK helmet closure can be securely closed even with one hand. The automatic, magnetic closing mechanism ensures a lot of comfort when putting on and taking off the helmet. One-handed operation is quick and intuitive, without the risk of pinching skin. Even with gloves, the FIDLOCK closure is easy to use. The closure securely prevents the helmet from being removed from the head when the straps are correctly adjusted.

Hardshell:

Hardshell helmets consist of a hi-EPS core and a impact-resistant outer shell made of ABS or PP. This combination provides maximum safety.

Hi EPS:

The inner shell of every Alpina helmet is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrol). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet during an impact. Hi-EPS ensures optimal protection while also allowing for extra-thin wall thicknesses and slim helmet shapes.

MIPS:

MIPS is a system that protects against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements during an impact. The low-friction liner allows a sliding movement of 10-15 mm in all directions, thereby reducing rotational movement during a fall. MIPS thus provides additional protection.

Mirror:

Mirror is a disc on which several mirror layers are applied. They protect against extreme glare and infrared light. Mirror is not only a feature of a highly functional disc but also a style element.

Quattro Varioflex:

The combination of Q and V technology. Quattroflex is our lens technology that strongly enhances contrast with a polarizing filter. Varioflex ensures that the lens automatically tints. The photochromic (self-tinting) lens reacts to visible light and darkens on its own within seconds or lightens when it gets darker.

Run System Classic:

With the Classic Run System, the size of all Alpina helmets can be individually adjusted using an easy-to-turn dial. The Run System Classic stands out for its price/performance ratio. It is a simple and robust adjustment dial that keeps the helmet securely and comfortably where it belongs: on your head.

Run System Ergo Snow:

With the Ergo Run System, the size of all Alpina helmets can be individually adjusted via an easy-to-turn dial. Alpina uses the proven Run System Ergo Snow for its ski helmets, a flexible head adjustment system with a central dial. The headband can be tightened or loosened using a rotary mechanism. The large adjustment dial is made from a grippy two-component mix and can be easily operated even with ski gloves.

Y Clip:

A helmet can only provide the best protection if it stays in the optimal position during an impact. The adjustment and fastening of the two straps under the ear play a crucial role in this. The Y-clip system ensures a precise, millimeter-accurate fit—in just seconds.
