Ortovox avalanche probe Carbon 240 Superlight, is a 100% carbon design. With an extended length of 240 cm.
Its compact size makes it easy to store and transport. Another design feature that helps keep this probe so light is the Aramid tensioning system.
Aramid is a specially crafted polymer, originally developed for the military, which combines exceptional strength and heat resistance with a very low weight.
The wide tip also improves entry into the snow. Visual controlis aided thanks to depth markers which helps to follow measurements accurately.
The super-lightweight of this probe is achieved in part thanks to its carbon segments.
As well as being much lighter than steel, Carbon also freezes much more slowly, thanks to its low thermal conductivity.
